Unique Controller

Valve's third reveal gives us a new controller. Featuring dual trackpads (laptops normally have trackpads below the spacebutton) it should allow for higher precision than normal joypads. There's a lot of ifs and buts in that statement, but at least its different. In addition, it will have a touchscreen in the middle and multiple buttons.

In addition, and much of the reason for why they opt to use trackpads is probably that it would make mouse-like movements a lot easier, allowing you to play mouse-heavy games like slow RTS games, turn based games, point and click adventures etc. on your TV.

I'm curious to how it will feel. I don't like traditional laptop trackpads at all, but this looks interesting.

What do you think?

I don't like the look of it, but I'll reserve judgement until I get to try one properly.

i wonder will it be useable by the xbox one and the ps4 just as a standard controller without the touchscreen.
My personal hatrid of controllers is that the joysticks are really slow.. and what i mean by that is if ur turning left and u want to suddenly turn right, i can achive that much faster with a button press or a mouse movement than i ever could with a joystick.

Maybe iv been a Mouse n board player for too long, but ive never been a fan of controlers for anything other than beat em ups and racing games.  The tracker pads are an interesting idea but im not a fan of the one on laptop's and still prefer the precision of a mouse,
