Our own little Rift guide so we don't forget what's been learnt!

Trash:

------------

Troll + Troll-keeper:
The Troll-keeper must die first. The Troll has a buff which makes it attack a random foe until the Keeper is dead. We deal with this by putting one tank on the Keeper and one on the Troll. The one on the troll will NOT be able to get aggro until the Keeper is dead, but once it is, it ensures that the Troll goes for the tank and noone else.

DPS & tank Keeper -> DPS & tank Troll.

------------

Slave-Master (Master elite), Slave (Master elite - Healer), Slave-Guards (4 elites):
This fight can be hard!

We put one tank on the Slave-Master, and 1 to take the 4 Slave-Guards. The Slave (female Healer) is crowdcontrolled by any means possible (stun, fear, etc).

The DPS follow the Slave-Guard tank's target and kill off the 4 Slave-Guards. Then the Slave (Healer) is killed.

For the Slave-Master, it does a very strong self-buff which gives +300% damage (and multiple other abilities) which results in the tank dying very fast. However, there's a warning to this. He will say something along the lines of "I will feast on your soul, vermin" or something like that. Just look for the word "Vermin". Once he does that, kick him or shieldbash to stop the buff. You got about 3-4 seconds to do this. If you fail to interrupt him, you will notice a small blue icon in his buff-list. That's when you start kiting. Run back to the entrance, run up on the right-side, and jump off the ledge. By the time he gets back, the buff is hopefully gone. Kiting is hardest on the first pull, but from there kiting is easy enough.

In short:
Crowdcontrol Slave (Healer)
Tank Slave-Master (and interrupt his buff)
Kill Elites (Slave Guards)
Kill Slave
Kill Slave-Master

-----------

Palefolk:
In the pulls involving pale-folk, just kill the pale-folk while the tanks deal with the slave-masters etc. as normal.

-----------

Giant encounter:
At the Giant, you need to pull the Slave-masters and elites away from him. Tank or kite the slave-masters, kill the elites.
This is best done near the ramp to avoid any trouble.

Once they are dead, I would advise trying to pull the pack on the opposite ramp before triggering the giant.

When triggering the giant, it will start a scripted encounter where an unlimited amount of enemies will emerge from a cave and attack the giant. These should be ignored. The Giant will kill them. Your job is to go kill Zurm and Barz, the first two bosses.

-----------

Barz:
Barz has a few abilities.

"I will gnaw on your bones": This is a powerful AOE which must be avoided (by the main-tank as well). Run out of range and wait for it to end.
"Noone is more powerful than Barz": Doesn't seem all that dangerous. Often said prior to "I will gnaw on your bones" (but not always).

95000HP: Barz calls for help - a Troll-Keeper and Troll arrives. These must be dealt with as the normal Trash.

70000HP: Barz calls for help - Slave (Healer) + Guards. Crowdcontrol the healer - kill guards - kill slave - continue on Barz. At this stage - the main-tank have the possibility of kiting Barz (the structure makes a nice kiting area) to help the healers concentrate on everyone else.

50000HP: Same deal as at 70k, Slave(Healer) + Guards.

25000HP: Barz heals himself at regular intervals. This can be interrupted, but normally you will do enough DPS to ensure that he dies regardless.

We deal with this by putting a Maintank on Barz. Avoid the AOE. Kill the packs as you deal with Trash. Kite Barz if necessary (You can even kite Barz+slaves if needed).

----------

Rest to come as we progress

Feel free to add your own comments etc. I've reserved a couple of posts to make sure the guide will fit in on top part of the post.
