WoW application - Shadow priest
« on: 16 January, 2013, 11:02:49 pm »
ABOUT YOU:

Applications type (Social/PvP/Raider): Raider.
Name: Micky
Age: 20
Country: Denmark
What other games apart from WoW do you play?: Call of duty.
A bit about yourself: Pretty normal guy i guess.. Working full time in a retail store and gaming/working out in the spare time

Armory Link: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/grim-batol/Napperdapper/simple

ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER:

Character name: Napperdapper (Momín)
Class: Priest
Level: 90
Current server: Grim Batol
Spec(s): Shadow
Professions: Herbalism 600 / Inscription 600
How often do you play WoW (typical weekly playtime and which hours)?: Pretty much every evening from 17-... If im not in the gym
What high level alts do you have?: Paladin lvl 83(main in wotlk) / Warlock lvl 80(main in tbc) / Shaman lvl 90

ABOUT YOU AS PLAYER:

Do you have Teamspeak? (Voice communication is essential to our raiding and it's highly recommended you get a mic if you don't have one already): I got a mic, and can always download whatever program needed.

List the relevant raiding add-ons you use: Currently using DBM, ATLAS, MFTICK, FORTEXORCIST and Gnosis

Our Raid times are from 20:00 to 0:00 server time with invites starting at 19:30. On which days will you be available for the whole duration? (A raidgroup usually only raids up to 3 nights a week)
Wednesday: Check
Thursday: Check
Friday: Check
Saturday: Check
Sunday: Check
Monday: Check
Tuesday: Check

Have you been in another guild? (Yes/No): Yes

If so: Which one(s)? And why did you leave?: Been in countless major/minor guilds on alot of different servers.. On Grim batol i was a trial for a short amount of time in Plugged in. Left it because of misinformed and it being an unorganized guild... Basically they knew we wouldnt be part of the raid team from beginning, but they didnt tell us. (us being me and my friend)

Please list your relevant raid experience, stating which encounters you have personal experience of at the current level cap: countless kills of 6/6 mv and 5/6 hof

Please link, if possible, any recent relevant logs (www.worldoflogs.com), so we can get an idea from your current performance in raids: x

Character:

Why did you choose the class you are now playing and the professions you selected?: After playing affliction warlock in tbc i always wanted to try out the shadow spec as a priest. So i started playing priest in cataclysm(pvp and casual raiding), and i just fell in love

Talent specialisation: 1 - Void tendrills 2 - Body and soul 3 - From darkness comes light 4 - Angelic bulward 5 - Twist of fate 6 - Halo

Would you be willing to change your specialization for the guild?: I would like to stay as shadow if possible.

Do you have two or more specs you know well enough to use in a Raiding environment?: Disc and shadow.
Please list any talents and glyphs you switch out for certain fights: I swap alot based on the current boss fight.

Gear: Currently in 489 with a new trinket coming in soon.

Do you feel your character is sufficiently geared to compete in the encounters of the current Heroic tier? (and if not, what is your character sufficiently geared for?): Pretty sure im geared enough for normal 16/16 and maybe heroic mv.
Where do you think your current equipment is lacking now?: What im lacking the most is a change of my retarded healing trinket. Not rly any reason for not having gotten a new one yet.. I simply havent been playing much the past months(reason for not getting valor trinket) and i have been unlucky on drops.

What stat-priority do you currently use (both secondary and primary stats, especially for tanks and healers), when gemming, enchanting and reforging your gear? (for both your main and off-spec): Hit cap > int > haste > crit > mastery (sometimes i am swapping the int for haste of its a major upgrade.

Guild:

Do you know anyone in MoX who can vouch for you?: Spoke to Mr Segev a while back, but i dont rly know him..
Why do you want to join MoX?: I know that you guys are full of dedication, atleast from what i know of.. My current guild are progressing extremely slow and have been stuck on the same boss for way too long. I simply dont feel like its going anywhere as of now.
What type of guild are you looking for?: Dedicated/committed raiding guild.

What are your goals in wow, what do you want to achieve and how long do you plan to keep playing? I somehow wanna make my character known on the server, i just dont know how to do it properly yet

Additional Information: I just started playing again when MOP came out, so i dont know much about cataclysm, expect for a few heroics, and bh runs now and then. And ofc pvp. Also, i just recently moved from shattered Halls(completely dead server) to Grim Batol(I like the fact that we are outnumbered by allies, makes it fun to do dailies and so on)

Confirmation that you have read, understood and agree to abide by the MoX Charter (Yes/No): Yes

Is there anything else you feel is relevant to your application or that you would like us to know? I did raid engame on my warlock in tbc, engame being bt and start of sunwell. And my paladin in lvl 80 did raid alot also, so im not a moron when it comes to raiding 25man/heroic.

Hey Momin,

Thanks for applying to MoX once again.
I've got a couple of questions for you.

With regards to your talents/glyphs:
 - From Darkness, Comes Light. Which fights would you change this talent, what would you use instead and why?
 - Why did you pick Angelic Bulwark over Desperate Prayer?
 - Why do you pick Glyph of Fade over Glyph of Inner Sanctum?

Some things that really need replacing are your shoulders and trinket, as well as your wrist enchant and Herbing profession.

That's all I have for now.

Right, i currently have glyphs for pvp, i forgot about that, my bad.. Also, as far as my personal experience go: 'From darkness comes light' cant really be rivaled.. I havent had a single kill with 'Mindbender' out dpsing 'From darkness comes light'.. Perhaps on feng, but thats all..

I'm not saying it's wrong, I'm asking why you do things the way you do them :)

Hey there, just a small comment on the gemming, I found it, rather interesting. Care to share your thought as to why you decided to go for this setup?

Also, what is your opinion on the Pandaren Step enchant vs the flat Haste one?

The reason for my current setup of gear and gems are set up to reach the haste bp of 8085, even tho im slighty above..

I do have 496 offhand and 489 legs in bags for more int, but i would still lose dps if i were to put those on as i would have to gem for even more haste, which would negate the int i get anyway.
I've had it confirmed from different high lvl players, aswell as sim, that in my current gear lvl the haste cap proves to do more dmg than if i were to swap to my gear in the bank.

I've confirmed that myself aswell, on dummies.

As for the glyphs, im using the fade for arena as i tend to get focused more than my partner, so having the 10% dmg reduction is alot more helpful than 6% magic reduction, even tho its just for a small duration of time.

Also, give me an example where a slightly improved movement speed has ever saved a raid from whiping ;)
170 mastery would just lower my dps anyway.

This is long debate - for example, with speed enchantment you will be faster stacking on blade lord hc, faster running in p2, faster running from his vortex thingie. To add other encounters, speed enchantment help a lot on wind lord.
Not to mention that its kinda hard to measure on many bosses on which you have to move to avoid some stuff (think dogs hc, elegon, will, tsulong).
Present tier is a lot more focused on running here and there than DS was, so right now (personal preference) I'd ask raiders to use this type of enchantment.

That's really not the response we are looking for..

Speed enchant means getting faster from A to B, means less downtime on spells that need casting, means increased damage.
Sure on a dummy fight your haste enchant will do better than Pandaren Step, but any fight where you have to move a lot Pandaren Step becomes better and better every second you move.
So generally Pandaren Step is therefor conceived a bigger DPS increase than the Haste enchant.

Also you're saying you use Glyph of Fade for arena's, which is fine by me, but you're applying for Raider here. So I will rephrase my question: Which glyphs do you use for raids?

Aren't you currently residing in Profanus? If so, what's the reason you want to leave them?
Also Profanus' logs show you haven't been raided with them since Dec 3th (atleast as far as the logs go), could you tell us why?

Oh and which guild would you join were you to get accepted by more than one? Refusion/Cuddle Vendor or us?

The reason for not having raided with them would be that i lost my job and therefore couldnt pay for supscription past that point, also my account got hacked in december...

The reason for me searching for a new guild is all based upon the extremely slow progress.. Also the raids usually end up with a mix of raiders and socials/trials, every single time.

I put up as many applies to as many different guilds i can, and picks the first one to accept me :)

Well, im not putting up to random guilds..

I got some advice long time ago; When you apply to a guild, make sure you don't apply to another guild meanwhile, It's not appreciated by "some" guilds if they found out.

Idk what the officers thinks but maybe It's just me.
Good luck however.

Its simply alot faster to apply to a bunch of guilds instead of having to wait for days until im able to apply to another.. Refusion for instance, they havent said a thing for almost 4 days now :)

I'm not in charge of anything whatsoever, I'm just a raider.
Only based om my previously experience when applying to endgame raiding guilds.

It has happend that they denied my apply just because of situation like this.
Nothing personal, just a tip if you will.

Good luck however.

Hello there, and sorry for the wait :)

First of all I have to say your application was a lot more solid than last time, and you seemed to know your shit much better when asked questions.

However, we are currently not actively looking for a new Shadow Priest. We are always open for exceptional applicants, but considering the fact that you happen to be quite a bit behind in both progress (10/16 normal compared to our teams' 5/16HC and 6/16HC) and gear, and no impressive previous Heroic Raiding experience, we can not really consider your application that exceptional.

I wish you good luck with your applications elsewhere!
