1) Throw a perfectly cooked grenade at his head.
2) Use your amazing shooting ability to pick him off.
3) Blow up the car.
4) Start a Benny Hill dance around the car until support arrives.
5) He isn't the mission, jump in a car (or stay in the one I'm in) and go to the objective.
