[WoW Applicant] Belzelga
« on: 20 December, 2011, 11:58:03 pm »
ABOUT YOU:

Applications type (Social/Raider): Raider.
Name: Alexander
Age: 24
Country: Netherlands
What other games apart from WoW do you play?: Football manager / PES / Fifa
A bit about yourself: I'm a 24 year old English teacher from Holland, and I like football, hunting achievements, and going out and all that kinda standard stuff.

ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER:

Armory Link: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/frostmane/Belzelga/advanced
Character name: Belzelga
Class: Warrior
Level: 85
Current server: Frostmane
Spec(s): Prot 8-2-31, Fury 8-31-2
Professions: Blacksmithing, Jewelcrafting
How often do you play WoW (typical weekly playtime and which hours)?: Usually whenever I'm off work and not going out; differs a lot, but usually in the evenings, and it depends on raid schedules, to which I can adapt my work schedule.
What high level alts do you have?: 85 Affliction Warlock, 85 Disc/Holy Priest.

ABOUT YOU AS PLAYER:

Do you have Teamspeak? (Voice communication is essential to our raiding and it's highly recommended you get a mic if you don't have one already):
Yes, and I'm not shy to talk.

List the relevant raiding add-ons you use:
Omen, Elvui, Bartender, Bigwigs, Skada and Quickmark.

We expect all members to attend any raids with food and flasks to last the whole raid night and being repaired and ready to pull at 20.00

Our Raid times are from 20:00 to 0:00 server time with invites starting at 19:30. On which days will you be available for the whole duration? (A raidgroup usually only raids up to 3 nights a week)
Wednesday:
Thursday: Yes
Friday: No (maybe occasionally)
Saturday: No (maybe occasionally)
Sunday:  Yes
Monday: Yes
Tuesday: Yes

Have you been in another guild? (Yes/No): Yes.

Which one(s)? And why did you leave?:
Zero Tolerance, Prominence (Chamber of Aspects): both disbanded.
Nocturnal Fear (Chamber of Aspects > Vek'Nilash): Stopped raiding.
Devils Own (Vek'Nilash): Couldn't get raids going anymore and they gave up.
Ethos (Vek'Nilash > Outland): "
Nightwatchers (Outland): I felt that hardcore raiding took too much time of me (5 x 5 hours per week).

Please list your relevant raid experience, stating which encounters you have personal experience of at the current level cap:
Tier 1: 2/10
--------------
Tier 7 & 8 completed while being overgeared.
Tier 9: 5/5 (10HC) 4/5 (25HC)
Tier 10: 12/12 (10N) 11/12 (10HC), 12/12 (25N) 11/12 (25HC)
Tier 11: 12/12 (10 & 25N), 6/13 (10HC and some on 25HC too, -- I was kind of hopping guilds that were all dieing in this tier)
Tier 12: 7/7 (10N) 7/7 (10HC), 7/7 (25N) 4/7 (25HC)
Tier 13: 8/8 (10N), 8/8 (LFR 25)

IMPORTANT:

Now when you are done with the "basics", we want you to explain a little about different aspects of your character.

Character:

Why did you chose the class you are now playing and the professions you selected?:
Warrior is basically the coolest class in-game; fury and arms aren't that exiting, they're kind of the same as DK's and Retri's, but Prot is a completely different style; the many different 'charges', spellreflects... Prot Warriors also possesses a great scala of raid-helping cooldowns (such as Rallying Cry, Intervene, Charge and the T13 4set bonus). A warrior tank also possesses great mobility, and AoE tanking abilities, and let's not forget their Vigilance effect, granting them infinite taunts in an add-tanking role, making them the primary choice for add-tanking; on the other hand, being a shield-wielder, warriors have block, making them a very stable tank to heal. What makes them stand out is their ability to Crit Block, making them superior to Paladin tanks, especially now that it's easily possible for warriors to become unhittable as well. In short I believe a (good) warrior tank can be valuable to any raid.

Talent specialisation: 8-2-31
Would you be willing to change your build for the guild?: Sure, if it helps the raid.
Do you have two viable PvE speccs?: Yes.

Gear:

Do you feel your character is sufficiently geared to compete in the Dragon Soul encounters?: Yes. DPS-wise as well.
Where do you think your current equipment is lacking now?: It's mainly my weapon, shield, chest and helmet that are a bit behind; but there's not much you can do about loot not dropping, so I don't worry about it too much.

Guild:

Do you know anyone in MoX who can vouch for you?: No.
Why do you want to join MoX?: The large community idea really appeals, and the fact that you seem like a stable and dedicated guild. I really can't judge all that until I taste it, though, but I'm willing to give it a go!
What type of guild are you looking for?: I'm looking for a guild that enjoys raiding as a way of having fun (as you should in your spare time). On the other hand, I'm looking for fellow-raiders that are experienced and dedicated enough to be able to do that without dropping their performance. Basically a semi-hardcore guild, as it's called nowadays :p

What are your goals in wow, what do you want to achieve and how long do you plan to keep playing?
I always want to achieve the highest possible raidkills, and with that as many achievement points as possible. I plan to keep on playing until I get bored, but that hasn't happened in the past 3 years, even though I've been playing the same character all the way (the same spec even).

Additional Information:

Confirmation that you have read, understood and agree to abide by the MoX Charter (Yes/No): Yes.

Is there anything else you feel is relevant to your application or that you would like us to know?
I'll probably be forgetting something, so if there's anything else you want to know feel free to ask, or have a chat on TS / Skype / Vent / Mumble.

Hello and thank you for applying, pretty good application aswell, well I dont have much to say about a protection warrior seeing as I'm the healing class leader. I will send someone else here instead!

Big thanks to i4ni @ mmo-champion.com

Hi Alexander!

I have to say, Great application!
Its a joy to read, and you show you clearly know your stuff!
It's good to see you have so much exp as Prot, And still enjoy it so much.
Can't fault anything on your toon and gear will come :)

I think Sagiv has/will be speaking to you to explain a few things but other than that I look forward to seeing you on your trial :)

Sorry for the late reply! (compared to my fellow Officers that is)

Application looks pico bello, then again I wouldn't accept any less from a Dutch guy AND an English teacher at that ;)

Have been trying to find something to bitch about, but the only thing I can think of is that you'll have to work on your offspec a bit. Both on Normal (as you already have experienced) and Heroic Dragon Soul there are quite a few encounteres where we have one tank switching to DPS

I've also discussed your application with Szemere. From what I understand you had a brief conversation with him before applying. The only real question is what we're going to do with the raid teams after the Christmas holidays are over, when we go back to our regular two 10man raids, raiding 3 days a week. We might have to shuffle groups around a little bit, but like Szemere said we could definitely use a Prot Warrior to join our tanking team :)

Application accepted!

Looking forward to inviting you to the guild and getting your trial up and running ;)

I know something to note on this application :O Because the gear is so awesome and perfect, let's go bitch about the spec and glyphs =D

I see you have a very singletarget focused spec (Deep Wounds, no Thunderstruck), but your glyphs indicate otherwise (Cleaving, Shockwave, Thunderclap), is that intentional, or did I just spot a fault =D

But looking really really nice, your progress in previous tier is awesome (we didn't clear Rag on HC, but did farm heroic FL for a bit longer), and you did seem to clear full Dragon Soul within the first week, which isn't nothing. Really looking forward to having you around, and I also know from experience Dutch have the best internet after Swedes, so yay for that =D (yay for inside jokes =D)

Contact with Belzelga has ended and transfered to another server, so I don't expect to see him any time soon.
Trial declined.
