Paladin Protection
« on: 04 August, 2012, 11:15:46 pm »
ABOUT YOU:

Applications type (Social/PvP/Raider):
Raider.
Name: Hassan

Age: 20

Country: England, London

What other games apart from WoW do you play?: I dont play many other games. Only abit of pokemon on the DS/gameboy if im travelling or Assassins creed when they come out. I love final fantasy however and have completed most of them atleast a few times!

A bit about yourself: Im a 20 year old guy living in london. I have played world of warcraft for 5 years now starting just before black temple was released during TBC. I am also quiet sporty.  I enjoy playing football and go to the gym regularly. I havnt been in a month and a half as i was away for holiday. Im really fun and easy to get along with and i really enjoy playing games with other players hence why i play world of warcraft so you will definatly get a fun guy join your guild with a serious attitude when raiding!

ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER:

Armory Link: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/grim-batol/%C3%98d%C3%ADn/simple

Character name: Ødín

Class: Paladin

Level: 85

Current server: Grim Batol (I changed over from Thunderhorn with hopes to join this guild)

Spec(s): Protection main spec, Ret pvp offspec (I have another lv 85 paladin which i will be working on to make up for the offspec. She's Holy.)

Professions:
Engineering and Herbing

How often do you play WoW (typical weekly playtime and which hours)?: It is really random at the moment as i have just come back from a month abroad so im trying to sort out some IRL stuff. But im usually on quiet a lot and definatly show up to raids i sign up for.
What high level alts do you have?:
As i have explained i have another holy paladin and i also have a mage which i dont play both lv 85.

ABOUT YOU AS PLAYER:

Do you have Teamspeak? (Voice communication is essential to our raiding and it's highly recommended you get a mic if you don't have one already):
I can easily download it. Its a very small file.

List the relevant raiding add-ons you use:
I dont really use alot of add-ons as a tank. The only ones i really use are Omen and deadly boss mods. Never really needed to use add ons for tanking. DBM just so the raid leader dosnt need to focus on me and can there for concentrate more on other tactics during the fight and omen to use in those parts of a fight where i need to be careful not to over aggro the off tank.

We expect all members to attend any raids with food and flasks to last the whole raid night and being repaired and ready to pull at 20.00: I should be able to manage this. If there is a night where i cannot raid then i will let the raid leader know very early on. This just depends on my hours at work but i know i should definatly be able to make 2/3 raids a week.

Our Raid times are from 20:00 to 0:00 server time with invites starting at 19:30. On which days will you be available for the whole duration? (A raidgroup usually only raids up to 3 nights a week): I really cannot give a day when ill be available as im on a rota at work but as i have said i will let the raid leader know in good time if i cannot make a raid!

Have you been in another guild? (Yes/No):
I have been in loads!

Which one(s)? And why did you leave?:
I will mention a few of my best ones. The first is Thule on frostwhisper realm. This was the number 1 guild on the realm doing ICC 25 man heroic raids at the time. I really did enjoy this guild as it was a very good raiding guld but also it had such an amazing social side. I left because i couldnt make 6 raids a week. I ofcourse let the guild leader know so i thankfully left on very good terms. Another guild called Riddlebox on Runetotem which was number 3 on the realm. They were amazing raiders doing the same content as Thule again with a very good social side. Again the reason i left wase because of the number of raids they do a night. Karma is a guild i would like to mention which dosnt exist anymore unfortunatly. This was on my original realm bloodhoof. They were a very good raiding guild. No were near as progressive as the previous two but the social side was amazing and we really did have fun in our raids. We raided 3 nights a week and started doing ICC 10 heroic content being one of the first to clear 10 man excluding the top guilds. I have a few of the officers phone numbers and still talk to them! I didnt really leave the guild i just had to have a break as i had alot of college work near the end of my college year so i let my guild leader know i needed a break and when i came back i found that i was the only one left in the guild.

Please list your relevant raid experience, stating which encounters you have personal experience of at the current level cap: I have cleared all raids on normal 10 man difficulty. I honestly dont find these much of a challenge compared to my 25 man heroic raiding guilds in WOTLK and especially my Bt runs and Sunwell runs with my burning crusade. Please let me know if you would like me to add to this bit.

Please link, if possible, any recent relevant logs (www.worldoflogs.com), so we can get an idea from your current performance in raids: I dont know what these kinds of websites do or how they work but i can assure you if i struggle on a new encounter the first  few times thats only because ill end up nailing it after.

IMPORTANT:

Now when you are done with the "basics", we want you to explain a little about different aspects of your character.

Character: Ødín

Why did you chose the class you are now playing and the professions you selected?:
I chose the class for a childish reason when i first started playing wow. The reason was i like holy warriors :). however i chose to be protection as i find it more enjoyable and more challenging than healing or dps. Also i chose herbing to make money as i was contributing alot to guild bank and Engineering as more of a fun proffesion. Like i said my previous guilds had a very good social side so if i needed something to be made or enchanted for example i only need to provide the mats and ask.

Talent specialisation: Protection

Would you be willing to change your build for the guild?: I would be willing to go for the best build to help the guild progress and to improve my character more! I am very happy to have constructive critiscism

Do you have two viable PvE speccs?: As i said i have a PvP offspec but i have another paladin which is holy and can spec it Ret PvE if needed. I will be working on that one just as much as my main outside of the raids for the guild. I decided to lv up another paladin to learn how to play holy from scratch and also i enjoy doing achievments on the main and PvP ones are quiet fun to do also so i wanted all my achievments to be gained on her.

Gear: I dont understand this question.

Do you feel your character is sufficiently geared to compete in the Dragon Soul encounters?: I know definatly my gear is ok for normal dragon soul encounters. I think i am able to do a few heroics also.

Where do you think your current equipment is lacking now?:
there are a few LFR pieces i would like to replace. I couldnt find the right guild on Thunderhorn so i havnt been able to raid as often as i have liked therefore letting my gear lack a little.

What stat-priority do you currently use (both secondary and primary stats, especially for tanks and healers), when gemming, enchanting and reforging your gear?:
The main stat for Protection paladins is Mastery. So enchants i always as for mastery and definatly put mastery in the yellow gem slots. I then do a combination of mastery/parry or Mastery/dodge for the blue and red slots. With my reforging i always reforge to mastery unless i need to lower my dodge and parry as they need to be near enough equal on a paladin.

Guild:

Do you know anyone in MoX who can vouch for you?: I do not. this guild was introduced to me by sagiv on my recruitment thread on the wow forums.

Why do you want to join MoX?:
I would like to join a heroic raiding guild that dosnt require me to raid 6 nights a week but i also want a guild with a very good social side. I have a saying and that is "I want to join a guild not just a group of people that play with each other."

What type of guild are you looking for?: A fun enjoyable yet progressive raiding guild

What are your goals in wow, what do you want to achieve and how long do you plan to keep playing? My only goal in world of warcraft is to have fun really. However i like to be succesful in what i do so ofcourse raiding i do my best in.

Additional Information:

Confirmation that you have read, understood and agree to abide by the MoX Charter (Yes/No): Yes

Is there anything else you feel is relevant to your application or that you would like us to know? I dont think there is but is there is anything else you would like to know please dont hesitate to ask.

Hey Hassan,

Thanks for applying to MoX.
Looks like you made quite an extensive application indeed :)
I would love to ask you some more in-depth questions with regards to your class, since I don't fully agree with what you're saying about your stat priority. But since everything will be changing in MoP, we'll save that for then.
As explained earlier, you're welcome to join as Social for now and be put on a Raider trial once the raids go live in Mists. As we're currently only running one 10man team which is doing DS sellruns.

Please poke one of the Officers tomorrow for an explanation of your trial and a guild invite!
