Sony sells SOE

Daybreak Game Company

Sony has sold "Sony Online Entertainment" to investment firm Columbus Nova, rebranding SOE into Daybreak Game Company. While Daybreak Game Company claims games like PlanetSide 2, Everquest Next, H1Z1, and so forth, will continue to operate as normal, the future suddenly looks more uncertain. Whether or not Columbus Nova is interested in keeping the company running remains to be seen, but investment firms do tend to gut companies and sell off assets. With none of Sony's games currently making a good profit (from what I can tell), I suspect "restructuring" and layoffs may be on the horizon.

Time will tell. What do you think?
