Have you been in another guild? (Yes/No): Yes
Which one(s)? And why did you leave?: The two most recent and most notable guilds I have been in are Tectum (Grim Batol Alliance side) and Sublimity (Aerie Peak Alliance side). Some of you may be familiar with Tectum, unfortunately they stopped raiding earlier this year which is why I migrated to Aerie Peak where I joined Sublimity who were ranked #32 in Europe while I was with them, at the start of Summer they too stopped raiding which explains why I have not raided properly since the start of Summer. I have not set foot in Firelands as I went away this Summer to America and I have found myself now living here until March/ April next year.
I am having a few issues proving that I was in Tectum since I name changed when I moved to Aerie Peak and WoW Progress doesn’t seem to recognise that. I’m sure if you are able to track down any of the members from Tectum (Kurii and Spitze in particular) they can verify that I was part of their guild. I have a link to show that I was also in Sublimity on Aerie Peak but there seems to be a similar issue with this as it shows that I was only in the guild for around 1 week, most likely because of the name change but at least you can see I was there:
http://www.wowprogress.com/character/eu/aerie-peak/Karekin Please list your relevant raid experience, stating which encounters you have personal experience of at the current level cap: I have cleared all of the content prior to Firelands (excluding Sinestra) in heroic mode so I’m no stranger to spending my nights wiping and progressing. I have not attempted any of the Firelands content, from my understanding it was not all that challenging from videos I have seen and word of mouth. The only Dragon Soul experience I have are from videos I have seen and bosses I have done in LFR. I must admit that when I joined the DS raid in LFR I had no idea what to expect, I was in pre-FL gear (mostly HC gear from BWD and BoT) and still managed to secure 2nd place on the DPS meter, I know it is LFR so it does not count for much. I have no screenshot to prove this. Despite not knowing anything about the encounters I did not fail on anything and the tactics were easy to pick up. I have since watched videos of most of the normal and heroic encounters of the bosses in Dragon Soul.
Although the information I have just provided is not very convincing or may not be enough to be considered for a trial, I can say that I am a fast learner and it will only take me 1 attempt to pick up the tactics and the way you do things. I’ve been raiding for a long time now, so don’t expect me to stand in stuff on the floor or take unnecessary damage. I have great awareness since my camera distance is maxed allowing me to see pretty much everything. I don’t click my spells, everything is keybound, as should any serious raider in my opinion.
Character:
Why did you chose the class you are now playing and the professions you selected?:During Vanilla when I was about 14 years old I had no clue what class to play so I pretty much leveled most of the classes available to see what I liked, at first I ended up playing and raiding with a Warlock through BC, about half way through BC I focused more on my druid. Primarily for PvP back then, I played a Resto Druid in 2v2. Upon the release of WotLK I decided to play a Balance PvE Druid and I have stuck with it ever since. I like the utility Druids can bring to a raid as well as the massive damage if played correctly.
Talent Specialisation: Balance
Would you be willing to change your build for the guild?: I would yes. Most of my raiding has been as a Balance Druid but occasionally and inevitably I have been asked to play Restoration so I have enough skill with playing as a healer to heal effectively.
Do you have two viable PvE specs?: Yes.
Gear:
Do you feel your character is sufficiently geared to compete in the Dragon Soul encounters?:In an organised guild, no. I had a brief conversation with Sagiv today and I assured him that I would need about a week in order to obtain an average item level of 384, from what I see this can be done relatively easy by running heroics, doing LFR, buying gear from the Auction House, purchasing items with Valor Points, buying my way into a raid spot with a guild for 1 week etc. I specifically logged out in my gear how it was before the Summer so you can see that I was at the top of my game gear-wise back then and I intend to do the same if accepted into MoX. I have a couple T12 pieces and a few bits from heroics which is why I am able to use the LFR tool.
Where do you think your current equipment is lacking now?:All over. I’m not going to sugar coat the fact that I am under geared right now, that is undeniable. But as stated above I am capable of being more or less up to date gear-wise very soon.
Guild:
Do you know anyone in MoX who can vouch for you?: I used to be in the same guild as Druidwig on Twilight’s Hammer some time ago and have raided with Druidwig countless times. I am not saying that he will vouch for me or even say that I am good with my class, you would have to ask him.
Why do you want to join MoX?:From looking around on your website I can see that MoX has a community outside of WoW which is a huge plus. From my experience, guilds that only focus on WoW together tend to have flaky online friendships. It is also to my understanding that MoX is not a hardcore raiding guild but has steady progression, I’m not looking for a hardcore raiding guild nor am I looking for the drama that often comes with hardcore guilds, I’m looking for an environment where I can be social during down time and be focused during raid time.
What type of guild are you looking for?:Think I just covered this in the previous question. Oops.
What are your goals in wow, what do you want to achieve and how long do you plan to keep playing?I don’t have any goals in WoW per se. I do however want to be with a group of sociable people who share my willingness to clear content while it is current and before Blizzard nerfs everything to the ground. I have been playing WoW since Vanilla (around 7 years ago, closer to 6 and a half) so I won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.
Additional Information:As stated previously, I currently live in America and will be here until March/ April next year. The raiding times are not a problem for me since raid invites start at 11.30am and end at 4.00pm my time. The only small thing is latency, being on the West Coast of the USA I do not have 20-60 ping like I did when I was living in England, my ping is usually around 150-200, it’s a minor inconvenience but does not hinder my performance. I’d like to add that I don’t suffer from FPS issues, having recently bought a new laptop I can run WoW with everything set to Ultra and sit comfortably in crowded cities with 100ish FPS.
Confirmation that you have read, understood and agree to abide by the MoX Charter (Yes/No): Yes
Is there anything else you feel is relevant to your application or that you would like us to know?: I’ve been 100% honest with everything I’ve written and if you need any proof of anything that I’ve mentioned or would like to ask me a question about something just ask away, I’ve nothing to hide. If you guys at MoX decide to offer me a trial I can be on the server within a week. I guess something else to note would be that I was an officer in one of my previous guilds, CHILLED. Druidwig was also there, that’s where I did my raiding with him. Occasionally during WotLK I would lead a second 10 man group, we were fairly successful but not nearly as much as I had hoped. I’m a patient person but sometimes you get people in a raid that aren’t capable of following instructions or taking constructive criticism. I’m sure Druidwig would agree with me on that statement. I’m not saying that everyone in CHILLED is like that now because it has been a long time since I have been affiliated with them and there are definitely nice people in that guild.
In addition to what I wrote earlier with regards to my current gear situation, I am already in the process of getting the best gear available to me without being in some form of organised raiding guild.
I am aware that I need to tweak some things with reforging my gear and glyphs etc because I haven’t updated it since the start of Summer. You can rest assured that I will have it fixed prior to a trial if offered one. Also note that I do take my class seriously when I’m part of a raiding community regardless of how big or small, meaning that I spend time watching videos, reading blogs, checking the new meta builds and optimisations frequently.
Also, if it turns out that you don’t even need a Balance Druid at all (I was told that you do at the moment, but anyway) then I am always willing to bring over my Shaman instead, the gearing process would also take around a week to bring it up to par and I’m well experienced with Enhancement and Restoration specs on it.
I’d like to add one last thing before I wrap this up. Despite my raid experience in the new encounters being next to none I feel that players are accepted into a raiding guild based on their skill and their learning curve. I pride myself on being a quick learner and due to the amount of years I have been raiding now I would say I am above the standard of an average raider. For now I feel that it is only my gear which is holding me back but this problem can be quickly resolved. If accepted you can expect me to be geared by the time I arrive on the server, I do not expect people to carry me through raids, that’s it is not why I am applying.
Thank you for reading, again, if you have any questions just ask, I’d be happy to answer.
